Role Summary
The Lean Engineer plays a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives across operations. The role focuses on identifying improvement opportunities, analyzing operational data, and leading Lean and Six Sigma projects that enhance efficiency, quality, delivery, safety, and overall operational performance.
The Lean Engineer works closely with production, logistics, fechnical department and facilities and IT teams to implement structured problem-solving methodologies and ensure improvements are sustainable. This position is instrumental in strengthening the continuous improvement culture through coaching, facilitation of improvement workshops and implementation of Lean tools.

What can you expect as a Lean Engineer at Scandinavian Tobacco Group? Your primary tasks will include:
Continuous Improvement & Project Leadership
- Propose and lead Lean and Six Sigma improvement projects to enhance OEE, efficiency, quality, delivery and safety
- Identify operational improvement opportunities through data analysis and root cause analysis
- Develop business cases and improvement initiatives that deliver measurable savings
- Facilitate Kaizen workshops and PDCA improvement cycles
- Execute 5S and Lean audits, gemba walks, and operational checks
- Ensure continuous improvement initiatives are effectively implemented and sustained
Data Analysis & Performance Management
- Analyze operational data and performance indicators to identify improvement opportunities
- Support root cause analysis and structured problem solving
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data structures supporting improvement initiatives
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of critical operational metrics, including OEE data
- Track project progress and validate performance improvements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Production, Logistics, Technical Department, Facilities, and IT teams to drive operational improvements
- Support implementation and continuous improvement related to MES/DPT systems
- Align improvement initiatives with operational priorities and business objectives
- Ensure Lean methodologies are applied consistently across teams
Capability Building & Continuous Improvement Culture
- Train and coach employees on Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies
- Promote a culture of data-driven decision making
- Support teams in applying Lean practices to improve operational performance
- Facilitate workshops and improvement sessions across the organization
Experience
- Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement roles
- Proven experience leading improvement projects in manufacturing or operational environments
- Experience working with data analysis and performance metrics
- Experience in cross-functional project environments
Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge of Lean methodologies and continuous improvement tools
- Experience with OEE analysis and operational performance metrics
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (PDCA, DMAIC, etc.)
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and reporting dashboards
Leadership Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to influence stakeholders across different functions
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to drive change and continuous improvement initiatives
Education
- Master ’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Additional Experience
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) is a plus
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Experience working with ERP systems or operational data platforms
