Job Title - Corporate Counsel
Location - Copenhagen
Hours - Full Time
About the role
We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Corporate Counsel to join our Group Legal team in Copenhagen, reporting to the Associate General Counsel.
The function is part of the Group’s Legal, Regulatory and Public Affairs organisation and plays an active role in enabling the business to operate confidently and efficiently—by managing risk pragmatically, ensuring compliance, and supporting commercial objectives in a complex and evolving regulatory landscape.
As part of Group Legal, you will support the business globally (excluding the US), working closely with commercial teams and other functions. The role offers broad exposure to the business and an opportunity to develop your legal skills while contributing to the Group’s long‑term, sustainable success.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Supporting sales, marketing, and operations teams across the EU and Rest of World (excluding the US)
- Providing clear, risk‑based and solution‑oriented legal advice that supports sound business decisions
- Assisting with ongoing compliance activities across the Group, including reviewing and maintaining policy frameworks and controls within sanctions, third-party risk, conflict of interest and data privacy, and supporting reporting, training materials and awareness initiatives.
Your background
You hold a Cand.jur. or Cand.merc.(jur.) degree and have up to 1–3 years of relevant experience from a law firm or an in‑house legal function in a larger organisation. As English is our corporate language, you are comfortable communicating professionally in both written and spoken English.
You have a strong interest in commercial law and are motivated to develop your legal capabilities in a business‑driven, international environment. You are keen to understand how legal advice supports commercial priorities and contributes to responsible business practices. You are comfortable analysing legal issues and helping translate them into clear, practical guidance for the organisation.
You communicate clearly and professionally and enjoy working collaboratively with stakeholders across functions and regions. You take a hands‑on approach, show initiative, and are ready to take responsibility for your tasks, while knowing when to seek guidance and sparring from more experienced colleagues. You thrive in a dynamic setting, can manage multiple matters in parallel, and consistently deliver accurate, high‑quality work.
Most importantly, you are an open and collaborative team player who values knowledge‑sharing, continuous learning, and contributing positively to a strong and professional team culture.
Core capabilities
- Solid foundational legal skills, including analytical thinking, drafting, negotiation, and communication
- A growth mindset with a strong willingness to learn and develop as a commercial legal professional
- A pragmatic and action‑oriented approach focused on enabling the business
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
